To create this pillow I began with washing, mordanting and dying the linen fabric a base color. Next, for the first layer of pattern, I dyed the linen with ground gall nut, incorporating a clamp-resist (shibori) technique. After the fabric dried, I used hand stitching to add another layer of surface design. Then stitched it by machine and pressed to finish.
