Light, airy, sophisticated, gauzy linen. Enjoy on a cool summer evening.

To create this shawl I began with washing, mordanting and dying the fabric a base color. Next, for the first layer of pattern, I dyed the linen with black walnut hulls, incorporating a clamp-resist (shibori) technique. After the fabric was dry, I used hand block printing to add another layer of surface design. Then, after drying for three or four days, I set, machine hemmed and pressed to finish.
