To create this table runner I began with washing, mordanting and dying the fabric a base color. Next, for the first layer of pattern, I dye the fabric with osage and then ferrous acetate, incorporating a clamp-resist (shibori) technique. When the fabric is dry I hand block print to add another layer of surface design. To finish I add hand stitching, sew the hem by machine, and press.
